The Illinois Elks Children's Care Program is funded through the contributions of individual Elks, the Illinois lodges and ladies' groups associated with lodges. Additional funding comes from memorials, gifts and bequests in remembrance of deceased members, as well as matching funds from participating donors' places of employment. Each year, the IECCC also conducts three sate-wide fund raisers. Our operating expenses are extremely low--especially when compared to many national charities. The Illinois Elks Association also makes a generous annual donation to the Children's Care Corporation.
No government funding is sought and no public solicitations are conducted. Interest earned on substantial gifts donated in the past has allowed us to assist our physically challenged children. Our program is designated as a nonprofit organization (501(c)3) by the Internal Revenue Service. Subsequently, all donations to the Children's Care Corporation are tax deductible.
The Illinois Elks Children's Care Program is governed by a Board of Directors representative of all areas of Illinois. Our Board serves without any compensation or even expense reimbursement to attend meetings. The Board is composed of a wide variety of professions and interests.
